About Alia B
The Alia Bastamam brand launched in 2010, with a focus on made-to-measure creations from its Atelier and Bridal lines. Since then, the brand has found its place in luxury ready-to-wear with specific attention to resort-centric designs.
In 2013, Alia Bastamam launched its “little sister” brand ALIA B, a diffusion line that targets a broader customer base with designs that are accessible and affordable. What ALIA B offers is a hint of the Alia Bastamam aesthetic made for a wider appeal.
Since its inception, ALIA B has offered well-received collections especially during the yearly Raya season. And like Alia Bastamam, ALIA B finds the resort mood an essential element to each collection. Through the years, ALIA B has made creative collaborations important to its brand DNA, with sold-out bag collaborations with Sometime by Asian Designers, Resort curation with international brand Havaianas and a celebrated Raya collaboration with hijab brand Naelofar. In 2018, philanthropic projects – for breast cancer and childhood cancer awareness months – became focal to ALIA B’s yearly releases. Acting as a platform for young artists, ALIA B has collaborated on limited edition sweaters that feature original works from the artists.
2017 saw Alia win the ‘Designer of the Year’ award at KL Fashion Week. At the KL Fashion Awards 2021, the Alia Bastamam fashion house picked up the ‘Decade of Excellence’ and ‘Brand of the Year’ titles, leading a clear direction for Alia Bastamam and placing it amongst the country’s leading fashion designers.
